AutoWatch GHOST – Non Detectable Immobilisers

The Ghost is the world’s first aftermarket CAN bus immobiliser. Protect your car from theft like nothing else on the market today.

The Ghost protects your car from key-cloning, hacking, and even key theft. The only way a thief could take a Ghost protected car is by physically towing it away, even then they will never be able to drive it! The Ghost has no key-fobs or LED indications to give away its location. The Ghost uses the buttons in your vehicle such as those on the steering wheel, door panels or centre console, to allow you to make a unique, changeable, PIN code sequence that must first be entered before you can drive your car. Just like your credit card but you can make your car PIN even safer by making it up to 20 presses long!

However, we did not settle there! In order to make extreme security also be hassle free, we have created an iPhone application that connects to your car and allows you to get in and drive without having to enter the PIN code. This iPhone pairing allows a single, authorised, connection with a secret pairing code that is unique to every Ghost and communication between the Ghost and the iPhone is encrypted. Alarm Systems

Many new cars are fitted with alarms, immobilisers and other security devices to improve vehicle security. Although newer vehicles boast a range of security devices, there is still a major need to be vigilant. We all have car insurance that covers break in’s and theft, but we don’t realise how much our premium goes up if the vehicle has been stolen or broken into. Most modern vehicles are prone to vehicle theft by thieves using scanners to reprogram keys to steal the vehicle right under your nose! We at Bromley Car Audio offer a range of products that are Thatcham approved for insurance purposes as well as non-Thatcham approved products that give extra added security to the vehicle.

• Thatcham Category 1- electronic alarm and immobiliser
  Systems that fall into this class are the cleverest and most complex on the market. A category 1 alarm system will feature perimeter, ignition detection as well as incorporating glass break sensors. The Category 1 alarm system also comes with a battery backup siren.
  Immobilisers are also a requirement to pass Category 1 tests and provides an engine cut on crank, fuel or ignition.
• Thatcham Category 2 – electronic immobiliser
  Where an alarm system is not a requirement by the insurance company but a Thatcham 2 immobiliser is.
  Just like the Category 1 system the Category 2 system provides an engine cut on crank, fuel or ignition.
• Thatcham Category 2-1 – electronic alarm upgrade
  With most modern vehicles having factory Category 2 system installed by the manufactures. The 2-1 upgrade allows you to just add an alarm to the existing system giving you the extra security to the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
• Non-Thatcham approved product – non detectable immobiliser
  A non-Thatcham approved product means that the governing body has not approved this product meaning no insurance company will accept it on behalf of the approved products.

Immobilisers

Where an alarm system is not a requirement by the insurance company but a Thatcham 2 immobiliser is. An Immobiliser provides an engine cut on crank, fuel or ignition.
